Continuously Learning

1. I am a person who usually can get by without putting a lot of work into it.  Most times, things just come to me.  I really never had to study much while in school and still pulled down A’s in pretty much every class.  But lately God has been impressing on me the principle that He’s worth more than simply getting by.  He’s worth my very best effort in all that I do.  Wow!  This is something that I always thought I was doing, but after some self-examination, I realized that I wasn’t doing all with my best effort.  I’ve learned that just getting by is not good enough.

2. I am a person who is governed by logic and has a sense of reality that needs to fit logic.  Lately I’ve been reading and hearing stories of people who have been called by God to pray for things that seem to escape the realm of probability, not to mention possibility.  I just can’t seem to wrap my brain around some of the things that they are called to pray for.  But this is exactly what God has been teaching me.  It’s not the size of the request or the task, but it boils down to whether or not I trust God to do what He says He will do.  I have to ask myself the question, “Do I trust God even if it defies my logic?”  The lesson that I’m learning is that yes, I do trust you.  Help me to trust you!

I hope that these lessons that God is teaching me will encourage you to seek out what He’s talking to you about.  I can’t say that it’s always easy, but it’s definitely worth the time and effort.
